Beijing Changping District 2016 rural sewage treatment facilities and supporting projects (Yangfang Town) project, It is one of the rural sewage treatment facilities determined according to the “Three-year Action Plan for Further Accelerating Sewage Treatment and Recycled Water Utilization in Beijing (July 2016 - June 2019) “and “the three-year Action Plan for Accelerating Sewage Treatment and Recycled Water Utilization in Changping District (July 2016 - June 2019)”. It is a key project to solve the problem of rural sewage discharge and treatment in Yangfang Town, Changping District, and improve the water resources environment. The total design scale of the sewage treatment station is 3000m³/d, of which 1000m³/d is constructed in the first phase, and 2000m³/d is reserved in the second phase. Supporting construction pipe network length of 36.1 kilometers, in 2016 planning project, bidding, construction and completion in 2017, in December 2017, the first phase of the project into operation.

The sewage collection pipe network of the project involves the former Baihujian village, the later Baihujian Village and Yangfang Industrial Park. The sewage treatment station uses the site of the former Yangfang Industrial Park sewage station in Baihujian Village to build a garden-type sewage treatment station with a treatment scale of 1000m³/d (phase I).

The sewage treatment station is responsible for treating domestic sewage in Qianbaihujian Village (1,600 people), Houbaihujian village (2,134 people) and Yangfang Industrial Park (1,500 people and 12 enterprises) in Yangfang Town, Changping District, Beijing. The collection service scope of sewage treatment station is shown in Figure 2:

The design scale of the sewage treatment station (Phase I) is 1000m³/d, and the actual treatment scale is 850-1000 m³/d (the water volume is slightly smaller in the first and fourth quarters, and the full load is operated in the second and third quarters).

The design inlet and outlet water quality is shown in Table 1.

The sewage treatment station adopts AHBS process (a biological doubling sewage treatment system powered by air source), and the process flow is shown in Figure 3.

Effect of operating

Effect of operating

The project was put into operation on December 1, 2017 and has maintained stable operation.

1. The treated effluent of the project continuously and stably reaches four types of surface level standards, which is better than the designed effluent standard, and all the treated effluent is realized as resources utilization (the reclaimed water automatic sales machine is installed beside the road at the entrance of the sewage station, and the sold reclaimed water is used for urban road cleaning, greening sprinkling, fire fighting, building construction, car washing, urban utility and toilet flushing).

2. The project adopts the AHBS process to build an environment-friendly garden-style sewage treatment station and beautify the local environment (all facilities are buried, only one negative floor is required, and the ground is garden landscape). At the same time, it solves the NIMBY problem faced by the site selection of environmental protection facilities (all facilities are underground, and the sewage station is an industrial building and equipment and facilities without odor, noise and ground).

3. It provides a kind of sewage treatment process with low operating cost, simple operation and maintenance, zero carbon source addition, affordable construction and affordable use for village and town sewage treatment, and solves the prominent financial problem in village and town sewage operation.

4. It provides a new type of environmental protection science popularization education base for the local people, and produces a social demonstration effect of water environment governance.
